WAIT, or Washington AIDS International Team, is a Youth-based AIDS awareness program with Teams in countries around the world including the United Kingdom, Belize, Kenya, Grenada, Trinidad, and the United States. The purpose of WAIT is to spread the message about AIDS; and how to solve the ever-growing problem of it's growth.
Teams in different regions achieve this goal in different ways, but the most common method of educating groups is through Performing Arts. From educational Skits, musical performances, breakdance sessions, and community service projects we hope to inspire both Youth and Adults alike to be involved in the process of eliminating AIDS, and assisting those who must deal with it as a consequence of situation in sharing their story in hopes of saving the life of another.

There are currently 17 WAIT Teams internationally including 12 in the United States based in Washington DC, New Jersey, Virginia, Connecticut, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Michigan, California, and Kansas.
Recent performances by our Kansas WAIT Team include appearances at Churches in the Kansas City Metro and in Manhattan, KS as part of their Martin Luther King Day service and celebration - "Not a Day Off, but A Day On".
Started in 2002, in Washington DC, and currently headed by the Tsubata family, WAIT has reached Youth in more than 20 states through performances at Community Centers, Religious Centers, Schools, and Neighborhood Events.
Using our talents, we aim to make a change in the world by educating Youth about the importance of abstinence before marriage and the value of a life-time partnership. AIDS is a life-long disease, and there is no cure. Currently there are more than 400,000 AIDS victims in the United States and more than 10,000 AIDS related deaths annually.
All WAIT Team members have made the commitment of abstinence as part of becoming a Team Member and focus on achieving their goal of a life-partnership through life-style preparation and devotion to their beliefs.
